SRK gets animated with ‘Atharva – The Origin’

A new age graphic novel project by Virzu Studios called Atharva – The Origin’s trailer has been creating some buzz on YouTube with over 84,000 views in three days. The trailer features Shah Rukh Khan as the titular character.

The novel is based on a very young earth, in a time long forgotten, where a prospective king makes a difficult and lone journey. ‘Atharva’ chronicles that journey, taking its hero and you on an awe inspiring voyage encountering magnificent lands and strange beasts – a true treat for the soul and the senses.

Animation and VFX has always been Shah Rukh Khan’s forte. He redefined rules when he made Ra.One, a film high on visual effects. And it seems that now the superstar is all set to achieve another milestone.

The trailer has a CG SRK with ripped muscles and ancient armours. He stands on a patch of rocky mountains in what seems to be the prehistoric age. The novel is an adaptation of Ramesh Tamilmani’s graphic novel by the same name. The project, headed by Vel Mohan, has beautiful illustrations by Ramesh Acharya. The CG/VFX has been delivered by R – Artworks. While there has been no confirmation yet, rumours are that the book might be adapted into a film, in the future.
