A Seminar on 2D Animation Process with ‘BIG AIMS’ Students by Patrice Blais instructor Toon Boom Inc – Canada.

Big Aims recognizes the need to constantly provide opportunities to its students enhance their knowledge, skills and techniques to help them in their pursuit to become market ready animation professionals. As part of this continuous endeavor Big Aims organized yet another seminar on June 16, 2012 for its students on demonstration of Story board Pro & Toon Boon technology in 2D software.

Mr Patrice Blais, an instructor with Toon Boon Animation Inc- Canada, with 12 years of experience in the field, was thrilled to give his insight and introduce the behind-the-scenes operations of the animation industry.  Being a stalwart in 2D animation, Fine Arts, and Electro Acoustic Music and associated with TV shows and Features (FOX television, Triplettes de Belleville, Imira productions’ Lucky Fred..), he stressed how the Toon Boon Storyboard software can help to take an idea and translate it into a visual story that will become a complete production.

He said, “Storyboard comes with an intuitive and user friendly interface that will make yourdigital storyboarding a breeze. Deliver rich looking storyboards instantly and effortlessly to everyone using the best storyboarding software on the market.”

He reiterated that tools of choice related to 2D animation include Toon Boom Pencil Check ProStoryboard Pro and Harmony. Loaded with immense knowledge, Blais was happy to answer the queries of students and the students were thrilled to be guided by the pioneer in the field.
One of the student of pursing 3D was overjoyed and said, “This software has truly bridged the gap between the 2D and 3D technologies and makes it quick and inexpensive.”

Stressing on the importance of  this revolutionary software, Mr Blais said, “Harmony is just a great piece of software, it is so easy for the students to make that initial transfer from drawing and still keep that thought process and just apply it to a different tool. This is how we want to approach technology, applying the animation principles and not teach the technology of the software but the “animatibility” of the software so that they can take that tool and animate.Harmony makes it so easy to do.”

“Entering the job market is difficult for every graduate, and the creative industries are even more competitive than most. 2D and 3D animators often find it difficult to find that initial “break” that get their careers rolling so we need to equipped with the latest technology in the field,” added Blais.
