What happens when a film’s wildest ideas have to survive the trip from concept to screen? Animation & More Summit 2026 centered on the theme “India to the World: Creating Global IPs for the Next Generation” is set to pull back the curtain on Kannada film 666: Operation Dream Theatre with a dedicated making-of session of it’s animated trailer.
Held alongside Anime India Mumbai 2026 from 28 to 30 August, the AM Summit will take place on 28 and 29 August at the Nesco Exhibition Centre, Mumbai, bringing creators and industry professionals together to unpack the craft behind some of the most ambitious projects in animation and visual storytelling.
Kannada filmmaker Hemanth M Rao unveiled the title teaser for his film 666: Operation Dream Theatre last year, announced through an animated sequence. The upcoming film stars Kannada actors Shivarajkumar and Daali Dhananjaya, with further details being kept under wraps.
The session titled, Making of: Exploring the world of 666: Operation Dream Theatre, will offer a behind-the-scenes look at the film’s creative and technical journey, from early concepts and design to the execution of its striking visuals on screen.
The animated teaser was created by IBK Productions, led by founder and creative director Kartik Mahajan and his team. The project brought together 2D, 3D, title animation, FX and technical animation, and compositing to create its retro thriller aesthetic.
The 2D animation was handled by Ayush Raj, Utkarsh Bankar, Toash Bhat, Siddharth Modi and Mahajan. Roshan Ragavendra contributed to the 3D and title animation, while Adhitya S worked on FX, technical animation and compositing. The film is produced by dr Vaishak J Gowda under the Vaishak J Films banner.
The making of the teaser will now take centre stage at Animation & More Summit 2026, where Mahajan and the team will unpack the creative and technical process behind 666: Operation Dream Theatre. The session will explore how the team translated Rao’s vision into an animated title sequence, from developing its visual language and 2D animation to integrating 3D, FX and compositing.
The session will also offer a closer look at the challenges of producing animation as an independent team, the collaboration between live-action filmmaking and animation, and the decisions that shaped the teaser’s distinctive period aesthetic.
With the teaser deliberately leaving more questions than answers, the AM Summit 2026 session promises to fill in some of the blanks, without spoiling the mystery.
