Whistling Woods International puts design in the spotlight with annual Design Conclave

Design is everywhere and Whistling Woods International (WWI) is ready to put it firmly in the spotlight.

WWI’s School of Creative Arts is bringing back its annual Design Conclave, a two-day gathering of ideas, industry voices and emerging talent, on 10 and 11 September at its Goregaon East campus in Mumbai. This year’s conclave takes its cue from the theme ‘Everything, Everyday, Designed’, exploring the often-unnoticed ways design shapes daily life from what people see and touch to how they communicate, dress and experience spaces.

The event will bring together three creative streams: animation and game design; fashion and costume design; and visual communication design (VCD). The programme aims to move beyond the drawing board, offering aspiring creatives a chance to learn from practitioners, get hands-on and see what their peers are building.

The line-up includes industry panel discussions and masterclasses featuring creative voices such as Vaibhav Kumaresh, international Emmy-nominated animation filmmaker, and Harun Robert, known for POGO’s M.A.D. Workshops will add some hands-on action, giving participants the opportunity to develop their skills with guidance from experts working in the field.

The student work showcase will feature projects spanning high-fashion design concepts, visual communication projects, live gaming builds and animation. In other words, plenty to see and potentially plenty to inspire the next big idea.

Hosted by WWI’s School of Creative Arts, the conclave is aimed at aspiring designers, creative professionals, students and design enthusiasts. The Design Conclave will take place at Whistling Woods International, Goregaon East, Film City, Mumbai, across two days. Registration is available through the event’s registration form.

With design influencing almost every corner of everyday life, WWI’s message is simple: sometimes the things we barely notice are the things most carefully designed.
