‘The Angry Birds Movie 3’ brings fatherhood chaos and a Sonic surprise to the big screen

Red has faced green pigs, wild adventures and plenty of airborne chaos. But his next challenge may be his toughest yet: fatherhood. Paramount Pictures has unveiled a new trailer for The Angry Birds Movie 3, offering a first look at the flock’s latest adventure ahead of its India release on 1 January 2027.

The film sees Red navigating a new chapter as he tackles the unexpected twists and turns of family life. The trailer teases comic clashes, evolving family dynamics, high-flying action and the franchise’s familiar brand of feathered mischief. It also features Sun Showers, a new track by Blackpink’s Jisoo, adding a musical flourish to the mayhem.

But the biggest surprise comes with a crossover that sends fans into a spin. Paramount’s blue speedster Sonic the Hedgehog makes an appearance, racing through a forest alongside Chuck, the flock’s speedy yellow bird. The two share a playful moment as they dash about and get caught up in some mysterious mischief. The cameo arrives ahead of Sonic the Hedgehog 4, which is scheduled to reach cinemas in March 2027.

Produced by John Cohen, Dan Chuba, Carla Connor and Namit Malhotra, The Angry Birds Movie 3 is directed by John Rice, with a screenplay by Thurop Van Orman.

The voice cast includes Jason Sudeikis, Josh Gad, Rachel Bloom, Danny McBride, Marcello Hernández, Tim Robinson, Anna Cathcart, Maitreyi Ramakrishnan, Nikki Glaser, MrBeast, Salish Matter, Sam Richardson and James Austin Johnson, alongside Lily James and Keke Palmer.

The flock will make its return to Indian cinemas exclusively in English and Hindi on 1 January 2027. With Red taking on parenthood and Sonic speeding into the picture, the new adventure promises that the birds have plenty more feathers to ruffle.
