NuNu TV: Building a kinder, more emotionally confident start for every child

With more than 32 million subscribers across its network and over 800 million monthly views, NuNu TV had grown into a widely watched preschool entertainment brand. Yet behind these numbers was a simple purpose: to create joyful content that helped young children understand themselves, connect with others and approach everyday experiences with greater confidence.

Created by an India-based animation company Sprout Studios, NuNu TV was built as a YouTube-first property for children between one and four years old. At the centre of its world was Baby NuNu, a curious, cheerful and emotionally expressive young boy through whom children could recognise their own routines, feelings and discoveries.

“We wanted to create meaningful content for children. We wanted our characters, music and stories to become a positive part of a child’s early journey,” said Sprout Studios founder Rahul Rohilla.

Beginning with the child

Every NuNu TV concept began with a familiar childhood moment, bedtime, sharing, visiting the dentist, tidying up, staying safe, making friends or trying something new. These experiences became simple stories, memorable music and age-appropriate repetition, helping children understand both the idea and how it felt.

This child-first approach shaped every creative choice: clear expressions, purposeful actions, gentle pacing and music children loved to repeat and parents enjoyed hearing. The ambition was to create joyful and engaging content that families welcomed into everyday life.

YouTube-first, globally minded

YouTube helped NuNu TV reach families across countries, cultures and languages, while giving the team a clearer sense of the stories and characters audiences connected with.

Being YouTube-first meant learning continually from what families watched and returned to. Those insights informed creative decisions, while the team’s judgement and child-first approach guided each story. Together, they helped NuNu TV grow across languages through everyday childhood experiences that felt familiar to families everywhere.

From individual songs to a connected preschool world

NuNu TV’s next chapter brought its songs and characters into a more connected world through themed musical collections, character-led stories, dialogue episodes and short-form content. Music remained at the heart, connecting stories and everyday routines that supported young children’s emotional growth and learning, while giving Baby NuNu and friends personalities families could know and love.

The brand was also exploring streaming, Fast channels, music platforms, licensing, consumer products and interactive experiences, reaching families wherever they watched, listened, played and learned.

Looking for global partnerships

At Mipcom, NuNu TV was seeking distribution, broadcast, streaming and licensing partners. “We’d built a strong connection with families online,” said Rohilla. “Now we were looking for partners who shared our belief in thoughtful preschool entertainment and could bring NuNu TV to new audiences and experiences.”

Each partnership carried the same promise: helping children make a kinder, more emotionally confident start in life.
