Swambhu Media Network, an Indian media production and storytelling company has signed a multi-year worldwide partnership with nCore Games, an Indian mobile games and interactive entertainment company, to develop three games based on the devotional film Hanuman Ansh, expanding its universe into mobile, PC and console gaming.
Dot9 Games, a Mumbai-based subsidiary game development studio within the nCore Games, will develop and publish the titles. The first game, planned for mobile, will revolve around the Hindu devotional hymn written in praise of Lord Hanuman Hanuman Chalisa, letting players learn and recite its verses using their own voice. The free-to-play title will be followed by action games for PC and consoles, giving the franchise a broader gaming footprint.
The partnership comes on the heels of Hanuman Ansh’s strong theatrical run. Directed by Vishal Chaturvedi and based on the life of Neem Karoli Baba, the film released in India on 7 August and had earned Rs 268 crore domestically within 38 days.
nCore founder Vishal Gondal shared, “The partnership aims to take the Hanuman Chalisa to audiences worldwide, while Dot9 plans to build the games as long-term live titles, with content linked to India’s festival calendar.”
From verses to virtual worlds, Hanuman Ansh is now taking its devotional journey into gaming, with three titles set to turn faith into play.
