‘Gangstar Mirage City’ rolls out Halloween update with Diwali special

Mirage City, fictional open-world setting and primary location, is getting a seasonal shake-up. Level Infinite and Gameloft have rolled out the first major update for Gangstar Mirage City, bringing Halloween chills, a Diwali celebration for Indian players and fresh ways to build their empire in the open-world mobile game.

Released on 29 October, the update introduces a new season structure, a permanent card collection system, syndicates for up to 50 players and a host of gameplay improvements. The game is currently available across South Asia, South-east Asia, eastern and central Europe, the Middle East and North Africa (Mena), and Latin America, ahead of its planned global launch in 2027.

First up is Frightful Feast, the Halloween event running until 18 November. Players can collect daily rewards, explore spooky locations, take on special missions and stumble upon wandering ghosts. New areas include hilltop park and a campsite, while haunted houses promise a few unwelcome surprises.

There is more to the update than Halloween mischief, spooky themes, limited-time activities, and chaotic open-world events. Vice Tonic, a new business mode, lets players start with a small warehouse and expand their operations into a factory. Players can manage production and distribution, design their facilities and make deliveries while navigating checkpoints and patrols.

From 19 November to 9 December, Franchise Fury, a major seasonal and operational update in the open-world action mobile game, will pit, O-Rage and The Family, two of the main rival factions in the mobile open-world action game, against each other in a turf war. Players can choose their side, fight for territory and help their faction claim rewards.

The update also introduces Blackbook, a major gameplay system, a permanent card collection system linked to the season pass. Players can earn card packs through missions and season pass tiers, piece together fragments of the game’s story and unlock rewards by completing collections. Duplicate cards can be traded with friends and syndicate members.

For Indian players, the festivities continue with Light up Rooklyn, a Diwali-themed event beginning on 2 November and running until the end of the month. Players can collect oil lamps, complete daily quests and earn exclusive outfits, hats and physical prizes.

Syndicates are another major addition. Players can create or join groups of up to 50 members, making it easier to team up and track progress. The update also brings the fifth Empire Pass, Dance with Death, alongside new vehicle, weapon and outfit collections.

The garage gets a makeover, too. New additions include the Razor, a two-seat supercar with autonomous driving; the Nomad Pro, a customisable recreational vehicle with an onboard pod that generates daily yields; and a three-seat Tuk-Tuk, is a new vehicle introduced with a wheelie boost and armed rear passengers. A limited-time Pumpkin Grenade, a limited-time throwable item introduced, adds a Halloween twist to the action.

More events are lined up for the coming weeks, including double cash rewards from contact missions on 5 November, Tuk-Tuk Derby on 12 November, Agent’s War on 19 November and double arena rewards on 26 November. A tasting-station event follows on 3 December, while user-generated racing maps arrive on 19 November.

A pink diamond recharge campaign will also offer double the currency for eligible top-ups, with an exclusive pair of cosmetic wings, Take to the Sky, available after players accumulate enough recharges.

The update further improves text flow and translation accuracy across the game’s nine supported languages, covering menus, mission objectives, subtitles and item descriptions.

With Halloween on the streets and Diwali lighting up Rooklyn, Gangstar Mirage City is giving players plenty of reasons to return to town.
