Eros taps ‘Lord of the Rings’ veteran Remington Scott to lead Imagination

Eros Innovation is ready to add a new dimension to entertainment. The company has appointed Hollywood producer and technology pioneer Remington Scott to head Eros Imagination, its new creative technology and experiences business.

Scott brings more than three decades of experience across filmmaking, motion capture, visual effects, gaming and immersive entertainment. His credits include The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers, Spider-Man 2 and Beowulf.

At Eros Imagination, he will lead creative production, talent development and international partnerships. The venture will work with Eros’s film and content studio Eros Brahmand, an ambitious, AI-powered cinematic multiverse, while developing projects with global studios, streaming platforms, game developers, musicians and intellectual property owners.

One of the venture’s first priorities is an immersive musical experience celebrating legendary playback singer Mohammed Rafi.

Building on Eros’s partnership with the Rafi family, the project will explore authorised digital performances, cinematic storytelling and interactive audience engagement, subject to rights and creative approvals.

The aim is to introduce Rafi’s music to new generations while preserving the legacy of one of Indian cinema’s most celebrated voices. The project could also lay the groundwork for similar experiences featuring other artists and entertainment properties.

Eros Imagination plans to work across visual effects, animation, post-production, virtual production, gaming, immersive concerts and interactive storytelling. It will draw on Eros Innovation’s proprietary Large Cultural Models (LCMs), which the company says are built using approximately 1.5 trillion rights-cleared cultural tokens.

The technology will be combined with performance capture and real-time rendering to support new production workflows. Eros’s Nexus system, an AI orchestration architecture, will help select AI models and tools for different projects, with creative control and rights management remaining key considerations.

The company also plans to develop digital identity systems that allow artists and their estates to authorise and license digital representations of their likenesses, voices and performances.

Eros Innovation co-founder and co-president Ridhima Lulla shared, “Eros Brahmand is where we develop and produce stories. Eros Imagination will help build the creative technologies and experiences that allow those stories, characters and artists to move beyond the traditional boundaries of film, music and entertainment. We are not simply bringing together a production team and third-party AI tools; we are building on Eros’s own LCMs, multimodal intelligence and extensive cultural IP. Scott brings an exceptional combination of filmmaking experience, technical expertise and creative vision, and our Rafi partnership provides a meaningful starting point.”

Scott stated, “Artificial intelligence, digital humans, real-time production and immersive technologies are giving filmmakers and creators tools that can fundamentally expand what is possible. What excites me about Eros Imagination is combining these capabilities with Eros’s filmmaking heritage, extensive  intellectual property and cultural intelligence. The Rafi experience offers an opportunity to demonstrate how technology can celebrate a legendary artist while preserving the authenticity and emotional connection that made his work timeless.”

Scott’s credits stretch from digital characters to gaming and virtual concerts. He led motion capture for Gollum in The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers, directed motion capture on Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within and worked on digital humans for Spider-Man 2, Superman Returns, Beowulf and Watchmen.

His gaming credits include Call of Duty, Assassin’s Creed, Spider-Man and Just Cause. His immersive work includes a virtual concert featuring The Notorious B.I.G. (aka Biggie Smalls), an American rapper and songwriter and Netflix’s augmented reality experience Altered Carbon.
