‘Ernest Egg’ – a stop-motion feature film in the making

Ernest Egg is an adventurer, an explorer and a scientist who will undertake several trips around the world with his faithful friend Karl Von Kartoffeln, just to satisfy his thirst for knowledge and his desire to impress. During these trips he will study, document and hunt those who the common people call ‘Legends’ and that no one has actually ever seen.

The project’s concept has been thought out in such a way that it can be enjoyed by a very wide range of ‘children’ of all ages, from pre-teens all the way to those adult readers who keep looking at life in a playful and ironic way.

Mainly inspired by the great adventure writers such as Jules Verne and Jack London and by movies like Jean-Pierre Jeunet’s dreamy “Amélie“, Ernest Egg’s all about travel and discovery, play and adventure, the fundamental archetypes of human consciousness. The stories will lay before the readers’ eyes as very familiar yet fantastic situations: the comparison with real life will then make the latter so much lighter and fun, just as children look around them and see nothing but opportunity.

The creators Francesco “Paul Izzo” Polizzo and Stefano “The Tree” Bosi Fioravanti are currently running a crowdfunding campaign through which they wish to produce the trailer of this feature film; and if things get hot, they will meet their goal of making the stop-motion film.

The Plot: “A tasty chronicle from the island Delicia”

Ernest Egg, our hero, takes on a journey to Delicia Island, alongside his longtime friend and adventure companion Karl Von Kartoffeln. The goal of this journey is to prove to the scientific boards that the Siren of the Mountain, who attracts the travelers till the top of the Roaring Volcano, is not just a legend, but a terrible truth.

Ernest gets to have on board none other than Captain A.Bach, the man who sails the seven seas to find his nemesis, the extremely dangerous Sea Werewolf. This mythical creature assaults every ship at hand in the search of its Magic Tooth, but just once a month, when the full moon rises high in the sky.

As soon as he gets to Sirens Bay, Ernest starts to meet lots of different monsters, such as Groomy Foody, very hairy grease-eater creatures or the scary dreadful sisters Voo, AND and Doo, whose favorite hobby is sewing up macabre dolls while sipping their favorite tea blend (the “Voo Doo Like?” tea) and brainstorming on the next creepy prick for the island’s inhabitants.

It is, however, on the top of the Roaring Volcano, that things get HUGE!

Ernest will at last meet the Siren of the Mountain, just to discover that she’s not what she seems. Lots of incredible things will happen there, and our hero will in the end be ready to leave by getting back on Captain A.Bach’s boat (the “BOOT”). He’ll soon realize, though, that he’s lost his diary, the only proof that he lived the whole adventure.

Once again, the London Scientific Society won’t be able to exactly know what happened to the Legend Hunter in his mission.

Not a problem: Ernest’s got a brand new diary and great new adventures and LEGENDS are out there waiting to be hunted!

Ernest Egg is a cross-media publishing project. It starts as a book, will become a board game, an interactive eBook and even a stop-motion feature film! As a matter of fact, Ernest was born as a resin model and then reproduced in a 2D way through photography and digital manipulation.
