Disney has unveiled the first concept art and footage from Frozen 3, giving fans their first look at the next chapter in the hit animated franchise. The film is set to release in theaters on 24 November 2026.
Walt Disney Animation Studio made the reveal during D23, confirming that the core cast and creative team will return for the third instalment. The film is directed by Jennifer Lee and Trent Correy, with producer Christina Chen. Songwriters Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez are also returning to create new music for the film.
Kristen Bell, Idina Menzel, Josh Gad and Jonathan Groff will reprise their roles as Anna, Elsa, Olaf and Kristoff, respectively.
The reveal footage opens on Anna and Kristoff’s wedding night, while Elsa is shown investigating a mysterious stone on a dock. The stone appears to open a portal leading to a snowy dimension, introducing a new and potentially dangerous setting beyond Arendelle.
The footage also introduces a mysterious woman in a cape whose identity remains undisclosed. Menzel described the world of Frozen becoming a little bit more mysterious since audiences last visited Arendelle.
The D23 presentation also offered a glimpse at the film’s new music. Gad joined Bell and Menzel on stage to perform new material, including a song centered on Olaf’s search for his one true love, Samantha.
The announcement adds another chapter to Disney’s hugely successful Frozen franchise, with the studio having previously confirmed that a fourth film is also in development.
