22nd edition of Asia TV Forum & Market (ATF) begins 1 December

Asia’s leading platform for TV and digital entertainment content – Asia TV Forum & Market (ATF), has announced that their digital platforms will go live with their hybrid event on 1 December 2021 and will stay fresh with content until June 2022. ATF’s opening day event will take place at Marina Bay Sands, Singapore on 1 December 2021. 

The ATF Conference, presenting high-level discussions by business industry leaders and decision makers will be accessible virtually at ATF Online+ from 1-3 December 2021. The theme of the 22nd edition of the event is ‘Re-imagining TV: Vision 2022’. 

The agenda of the hybrid event reveals that there will be sessions catering to virtual production, animation, digital media and so on. Day one lineup includes a session titled ‘The Beginning and the Success of Virtual Production’ addressed by Australian film director/writer/producer, Alex Proyas. There are two more such sessions titled- ‘Virtual Production- A New Obsession’ and ‘Virtual Production- Empowering the Business of Content Creation’.

There is a segment named ‘Fresh Content China: Animation’ scheduled for the second day. Another discussion explores the application and impact of AI on the content ideation and production value chain, the ethical issues that may be raised and what participants in this value chain need to be aware of and consider.

Third day will focus on sessions like ‘Malaysia Animation’, ‘ATF Animation Pitch 2021′,’Korean Animation Showcase-SBA’ and ‘Korean Animation Showcase-GCA’ among many other engaging discourses scheduled for the entire ATF 2021. 

The spotlight country of ATF 2021 is China. Organized by The State Council Information Office of China and National Radio and Television Administration of China, the China Pavilion will host the ‘SPOTLIGHT CHINA’ program in 2021 ATF. There are 30 Chinese companies, bringing over 200 outstanding Chinese content to the virtual market. 

There are also six exciting online events of various styles, including three ‘Fresh Content China’ sessions (for dramas, animations, documentaries and variety shows). There will be one screening by China for Metal of the Republic (drama), and two keynotes by representatives from Shanghai Media Group (SMG) and Tencent’s WeTV at ‘Mornings With Industry Leaders’.

The speaker list of the event includes Zee Entertainment Enterprises Limited international business chief business officer Ashok Namboodiri, iQIYI senior VP Chen Xiao, Epic Games Southeast Asia technical account manager and evangelist Dean Reinhard among many other industry leaders.

Seascreen Project Market, a part of ATF, is an annual summit that brings together the best content concepts from Asia and Europe, to meet with international co-producing partners, festival programmers, distributors, commissioners, and financiers. Up to 15 projects, now across all genres and formats, are selected by a panel to be featured at the Seascreen Project Market.

The project submission had been open since 1 September 2021 and 31 October 2021 being the last date of submission. The shortlisted projects will be announced in November and the top Projects will be awarded on 3 December 2021.
