Nintendo officially launches its subsidiary Nintendo Pictures

Nintendo Pictures, a brand-new fully owned subsidiary that will focus on the development of visual content employing Nintendo IP, has officially been formed by Nintendo. Nintendo first revealed its plans to buy the animation studio, which was formerly known as Dynamo Pictures, earlier this year. It now appears that those plans have been fulfilled.

The new Nintendo division now has a corporate website, a logo, and a brief of what Nintendo Pictures is all about. Nintendo Pictures has historically contributed CG animation for video games, despite the tendency for most people to assume that the business only works on animation for movies or television. Furthermore, the initial description of the aim, creation of visual material leveraging Nintendo IP, is quite broad in nature.

Previously known as Dynamo Pictures, it has produced CG animation for anime like Yuri on Ice, movie Earwig and the Witch along with shorts for the Pikmin franchise. Even though the studio has previously worked for several different types of projects for different companies, it is assumed that moving forward it will work on Nintendo’s IPs.

Upcoming Mario movie by Illumination is the only high-profile project as of now and its first teaser trailer is set to release in New York Comic Con later this year on 6 October. Chris Pratt, Anya Taylor-Joy, Charlie Day and others make up the great voice cast for Mario.
