Marvel Studios’ ‘The Falcon and the Winter Soldier’ is high on action and humour

And it’s here! As expected, Disney owned Marvel Studios dropped the first trailer for The Falcon and the Winter Soldier on Sunday, 7 February 2021, during Super Bowl 2021.

Ofcourse Marvel fanatics can’t keep calm as the Phase Four that officially began with WandaVision, and has now got a kick-start with Captain America’s favourite two sidekicks coming together for their own Disney+ Original.

Originally meant to be the first MCU show for Disney+, filming of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier was delayed due to the pandemic and the show is finally arriving next month on the Disney owned streaming service.

Set after the events of Avengers: Endgame, the series features Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie) taking up the role of Captain America, and Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan) teaming up to deal with the anarchist group, Flag-Smashers. Daniel Brühl’s Baron Zemo, who the Avengers fight in Civil War also appears in the trailer.

The chemistry between Wilson and Barnes looks interesting and bitter-sweet. They’re not friends but love Steve Rogers (played by Chris Evan, the original Captain America), and yet share a strong bond. It is a matter of time before they come to terms with each other.

The series is so-Marvel and very unlike the fresh, quiet suburban setting of WandaVision, yet The Falcon and the Winter Soldier is a welcome change for the pace and storyline of MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe). It’s high on adrenaline, heart-stopping stunts, amazing VFX, great cinematography, the usual MCU comic timing, cinematic-locations, and nothing less than a blockbuster action movie.

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier arrives exclusively on Disney+ Hotstar on 19 March.
