International Association of Computer Graphics (IACG) in association with AnimationXpress.com recently conducted a 15 day long series of seminars on animation career guidance across various regions of Andhra Pradesh. A P – Overdrive 09 started on 5th July, 2009 and ended on 20th July, 2009 at Hyderabad. The seminars covered about 21 cities in and around Andhra Pradesh.
The seminars were specially targeted towards aspiring animation students and the main objective behind the seminars was to create awareness for the students and to bridge the gap between students and studio requirements.
Seminars were addressed by AnimationXpress Hyderabad Bureau Chief R. Rama Krishna Polina in all the 20 Districts and in Hyderabad AnimationXpress CEO Anand Gurnani also joined. Bala Kiran Pandramgi, Sunil and Rama Krishna Reddy representing 4D VFX Division shared their experiences while IACG, Chairman P.V. Swamy and COO Shirdhi shared their knowledge and explained about their courses offered under University & Industry Collaborative Program.
Speaking on the reasons of conducting the seminars R.K Polina said “There are a lot of high expectations and myths regarding the Animation Industry and the various education programs being offered. The details and information regarding the Industry and specializations are available to people in Hyderabad because of various programs like CG meet ups, but unfortunately the message is not reaching to the other interior districts.”
The various subjects that were discussed during the course of the seminars were current market scenario, India’s position in global animation industry, strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, how to tell stories to the global audience with our nativity and creativity. Synergic relation between creative art & technology, tricks and techniques with VFX works, making of Telugu Films which was worked under expert team of 4D Animations & VFX were also explained.
“Such efforts and awareness initiatives on a regular basis with more Industry support will surely help in getting more creative professional talents for the betterment and growth of the Industry,” added Polina.
The districts covered under the A.P Overdrive ‘09 were Mehboobnagar, Kurnool, Ananthapur, Cuddapah, Tirupathi, Nellore, Prakasam, Guntur, Vijayawada, Eluru, Rajmundry, Kakinada, Vishakapatanam, Vijayanagar, Srikakulam, Kammam, Warangal, Karimnagar, Nizambad, Adilabad and it finally ended in Hyderabad
