Disney+ reveals new poster for ‘Loki’ releasing on 9 June

Just four weeks until the God of Mischief arrives with another adventure! To begin the countdown to the first episode of the new Marvel Studios series, Loki, Disney+ has unveiled a new poster featuring characters from the series.

The Original series features the rescued Odin-son as he steps out of his brother’s (Thor) shadow set after the events of Avengers: Endgame. Set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), it shares continuity with the films of the franchise and takes place in an alternate version of Loki, creating a new timeline.

Tom Hiddleston reprises his character as the titular Loki, joined by Owen Wilson, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Sophia Di Martino, Wunmi Mosaku and Richard E. Grant. Produced by Marvel Studios, Kate Herron directs the first season of Loki and Michael Waldron serves as head writer.

In September 2018, Marvel Studios announced that they will be developing a number of limited series for Disney+, centered on supporting characters from the MCU films. Loki was confirmed in November, along with Hiddleston‘s return. The filming began in January 2020 in Atlanta, Georgia, but was stalled in March 2020 due to the pandemic. Production resumed in September 2020 and was completed that December.

Loki is scheduled to premiere on 9 June, Wednesday and will consist of six episodes. New episodes will be dropping weekly on Wednesdays. The series will be part of Phase Four of the MCU. A second season is already in development.
