‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’ collects $814 million worldwide

Spiderman: No Way Home has created another record with $814 million global box-office collection. Sony/Marvel’s latest film becomes the top Hollywood release and becomes the number three movie of the year.

According to the Deadline, Spidey collection in the top 10 markets through Wednesday are the UK ($57.1 million), Mexico ($43.9 million), France ($28.7 million), Korea ($28.6 million) Brazil ($26.6 million), Australia ($26.3 million), India ($23.5 million), Russia ($22.2 million), Italy ($16.1 million) and Germany ($15.5 million).

Warner Bros. and Village Roadshow Pictures’ Matrix Resurrections followed in third place with an opening day gross of roughly $6.5 million from 3,552 theatres. The Matrix and King’s Man installments both joined the holiday release on Wednesday alongside Universal and Illumination’s animated film Sing 2, which managed to collect $8.1 million from 3,892 locations.

Spider-Man: No Way Home is based on the Marvel Comics co-produced by Columbia Pictures and Marvel Studios and distributed by Sony Pictures. It is the sequel to Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017) and Spider-Man: Far From Home (2019), and is the 27th film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).

The film is directed by Jon Watts and written by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers, and stars Tom Holland as Peter Parker/Spider-Man alongside Zendaya, Benedict Cumberbatch, Jacob Batalon, Jon Favreau, Jamie Foxx, Willem Dafoe, Alfred Molina, Benedict Wong, Tony Revolori, Marisa Tomei, Andrew Garfield, and Tobey Maguire.
