Naoshi Arakawa announces new manga series ‘Atwight Games’

A new manga series Atwight Games is in development by Your Lie in April creator Naoshi Arakawa. Atwight Games might not be the official English title of the series.The announcement was made by Arakawa on Twitter, no further details were shared but it was revealed that the manga will have a preview in this year’s Kodansha’s Weekly Shōnen Magazine on 21 September. On his Twitter, he also shared a sketch of the manga’s main protagonist.

The manga Your Lie in April by Arakawa made its debut in the Kodansha Monthly Shonen Magazine in 2011 and ran through February 2015. The 11th and final compilation volume was released by Kodansha in Japan in May 2015. The manga served as the inspiration for a 22-episode television anime series that debuted in October 2014 and was made available on home video by Aniplex of America. A live-action movie based on the manga premiered in September 2016. The original manga was published in English by Kodansha Comics.

Arakawa most recently drew the Sayonara, Football two-volume manga sequel Farewell, My Dear Cramer. Farewell, My Dear Cramer began publication in Monthly Shonen Magazine in May 2016 and concluded with 14 volumes in December 2020. The manga was published in print and digitally by Kodansha Comics at the same time as its Japanese release. An anime movie and a television anime adaptation were both inspired by the mangas Farewell, My Dear Cramer and Sayonara, Football. The Sayonara, Football anime film Eiga Sayonara Watashi no Cramer First Touch launched in June 2021, while the Farewell, My Dear Cramer television anime debuted in April 2021.
