Marvel Comics announces new limited series comic ‘Silver Surfer: Ghost Light’

Marvel Comics is set to introduce a new superhero in its upcoming comic Silver Surfer: Ghost Light, which will release in February 2023. The new comic will be written by John Jennings and illustrated by Valentine De Landro. Marvel advertised Ghost Light as being 54 years in the making during the Marvel Voices panel in New York Comic Con 2022. 

The official synopsis of the five-issue limited series reads: Toni Brooks and her family have moved into the quiet town of Sweetwater. But nothing is quite what it seems with their new home. What mystery did Toni and her family unravel that would call upon the Sentinel of the Spaceways—the Silver Surfer?! And just who or what is GHOST LIGHT? Eisner award winner JOHN JENNINGS and artist, VALENTINE DE LANDRO (BITCH PLANET) introduce a new Marvel superhero 54 years in the making!

Silver Surfer made its first appearance in Jack Kirby’s The Fantastic Four #48, which was released in 1966. The superhero made its live-action debut Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer which was released in 2007 where the character was portrayed by Doug Jones and voiced by Laurence Fishburne.
