Warner Bros. Home Entertainment announces several new animated DC films including, ‘Justice League: Warworld’

At San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC) 2022, Warner Bros. Home Entertainment unveiled a range of new DC animated films.

Film publicist Gary Miereanu gave a speech on what fans may anticipate going forward after introducing the upcoming Green Lantern: Beware My Power movie to fans in attendance at the convention.

The following movie titles were revealed by Miereanu during the SDCC panel – He first mentioned previously announced projects like RWBY x Justice League and Batman and Superman: Battle of the Super Sons before revealing Batman: The Doom That Came to Gotham, Legion of Super-Heroes, and Justice League: Warworld. It was also announced that a new Justice Society of America feature was in the works.

The movie Battle of the Super Sons, which is set to hit theatres this October, was first revealed at DC FanDome 2021 and released its first trailer in late June 2022. The limited comic book crossover series written by Marguerite Bennett served as the inspiration for the RWBY x Justice League movie, which was revealed the same week as the trailer debuted. However, it doesn’t seem like either of these movies is in continuation of the new film universe that DC Animation is creating.

Justice League Dark: Apokolips War, released in 2020, marked the conclusion of the previous DC Animated Movie Universe, which had started with Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox in 2013. A new animated film universe known as the Tomorrowverse, of which Beware My Power, Justice Society: World War II, and Batman: The Long Halloween, parts one and two (2021) are a part, was launched in 2020 with the release of Superman: Man of Tomorrow.

The founding of the Justice League is alluded to in a post-credits sequence from The Long Halloween, part two that features Green Arrow/Oliver Queen and the Flash/Barry Allen showing up at Bruce Wayne’s house. Given that Warworld is a weaponised, planet-sized satellite that Mongul controls in DC Comics, the team’s recently announced movie suggests that Mongul may be the main antagonist.

On July 26 2022, Green Lantern: Beware My Power will be available for home purchase.
