Hulu will air The Paloni Show! Halloween Special! this October.
First reported by Deadline, the show will be based on the famous The Paloni Family Comedy show! featuring the popular comedian Justin Roiland.
The Paloni Family Comedy Show! was pitched initially by Roiland to Fox in 2009. The show was set to be an animated comedy featuring a mix of family high jinx and variety acts from their wacky neighbours. Unfortunately, the pilot presentation was not picked up for Fox’s Animation Domination. However, clips of it have been posted to YouTube. The presentation was also previously available on Roiland’s personal site.
Roiland has worked with Hulu before. He co-created the animated Hulu Original Solar Opposites and also voices one of the lead roles on the show. He is also the co-creator and a voice actor on the popular Adult Swim show Rick and Morty.
The Paloni Family is now getting a second life on Hulu. The original show featured Leroy, Marty and Grandpa Paloni; however, the Halloween Special follows Leroy, Reggie and Cheruce Paloni, a set of siblings, as they host a show of “spooky shorts from a group of up-and-coming animators.”
In the original presentation, Roiland voiced the characters; however, for the special, he will be joined by Zach Hadel as Reggie and Pamela Adlon will join as Cheruce. In addition, Roiland will return in the role of Leroy. Vatche Panos and Kari Wahlgren have also been announced as part of the main cast.
The special will release on 17 October.
