Sony announced today that it will release Alcon Entertainment’s animated movie Garfield in February 2024.
Chris Pratt voices the titular cat character and Samuel L. Jackson plays Vic, the Garfield’s father. The movie is directed by Mark Dindal and the screenplay was written by David Reynolds.
According to Deadline reports, Alcon Entertainment acquired the Garfield comic series rights from Jim Davis, who serves as executive producer. John Cohen, Steven P. Wegner, Andrew Kosove, Broderick Johnson, Namit Malhotra and Tom Jacomb serves as producer.
Garfield is comic strip created by Jim Davis. Originally published locally as Jon in 1976, then in nationwide syndication from 1978 as Garfield, it chronicles the life of the title character Garfield the cat, his human owner Jon Arbuckle, and Odie the dog.
Alcon Entertainment is producing the picture, with Sony distributing.
Garfield is set to release on 16 February 2024.
