The second season of The Pinkalicious and Peterrific Podcast is announced by the GBH Kids, along with an original game for the PBS Kids. The series being based on best-selling picture books by Victoria Kann is an animated preschool program that encourages and inspires children to explore arts and express themselves creatively.
The makers have started the series just in time for Memorial Day travel. The new season, including eight episodes, will be available on the PBS Kids video app, the YouTube channel of PBS Kids, their website along with major podcast websites for free. The program is set to embark on Pinkatastic adventures each will and the kids can interact with the podcast hosts, Pinkalicious and her brother Pete. In the new season, the kids will learn more about Pinkalicious and her brother Pete’s favourite things while they dance and sing along to the songs that showcase the importance of friendships, creating fun ideas for playdates and spending time at the beach. Pinkalicious’ creator and author Victoria Kann will answer the questions of the kids at the end of each episode.
The podcast guide is available which can be used as a companion to The Pinkalicious and Peterrific Podcast to provide children and their caregivers with activities related to the theme of each episode of the podcast. There are Pinkalicious & Peterrific activities or worksheets related to a podcast episode, book or video recommendations, and additional podcast recommendations in each guide. Later this month, to align with their beach themed episode, they will be launching the ‘Splashtastic Beach Day’ game which will be available for free to the kids via PBS Kids app on Play Store on PBS Kids website. The game will let the kids embark on a treasure hunt, dance with fish and reimagine a tide pool.
GBH Kids, in partnership with HOThead Creative Studios and PRX, has created season two. Corporate funding for the same was provided by IKEA Retail US and Kiddie Academy. The additional content for season two includes content from seasons one and two of The Pinkalicious and Peterrific series.
GBH Kids and Sixteen South Studios have produced the show and funding is provided by the Corporation for Public Broadcasting and public television viewers.
