The My Hero Academia franchise’s Hero Fes 2022 event confirmed that the sixth season of the anime will premiere on 1 October. The new season adapts Kōhei Horikoshi’s original manga’s paranormal liberation war arc, which depicts an all-out war between heroes and evil.
The initial 13 episodes of the anime’s first season debuted in April 2016. The second season’s 25 episodes debuted in April 2017 and the third season’s 25 episodes debuted in April 2018. In Japan, the fourth season’s 25 episodes began airing in October 2019. In August 2020, a two-episode original video anime for the series began streaming on Funimation and Crunchyroll in Japan.
The fifth season of the series premiered in Japan in March 2021 and ran for 25 episodes. From 16-19 June, a brand-new original two-episode anime aired in Japan. The episodes will start streaming on 1 August on Crunchyroll.
