Come Sunday, the 14th of June and Cartoon Network is all set to air the short Kul Veera
Kul Veera – The Making of Heroes is a property jointly developed & produced by Graphiti & Turner International as part of the SNAPTOONS initiative.
Featuring a gripping, tightly edited narrative, with fast moving cinematography and great animation performance, the KulVeera promo airs at 9.30 am and 6.00 pm on Cartoon Network, June 14 with another airing of the same slated for 28 June.
“It’s been a couple of years since work on KulVeera began, with a year each spent on development and production with some time spent with both going on in parallel. We have been tightlipped for all the while and now finally with the short film slated to be aired, it’s a time of great excitement for the studio and animation industry in India” shared Graphiti CEO & the director of Kul Veera, Tilak Shetty.
“We are very confident of the product we have created and I must say that both Graphiti & Turner have put in their best concerted efforts to create something that is intrinsically Indian yet at the same time very global in its treatment and appeal. I do hope the audience enjoy watching it as much as we have enjoyed creating it.” added Graphiti COO & Producer of Kul Veera, Munjal Shroff
The news of KulVeera short airing on Cartoon Network is indeed a positive one and is yet another milestone in the industry.
Silas Hickey, Creative Director, Asia Pacific Animation Development, Turner Entertainment Networks Asia, Inc. (TENA) shared, “We are extremely thrilled to see SNAPTOONS, one of the biggest original content development initiatives from any networks across Asia Pacific region become a reality on Cartoon Network. As animation vanguards Cartoon Network had set out with a vision to invest and develop next generation of cartoon heroes and today these minisodes represent cutting edge animation style, compelling storylines and universal appeal. Working day and night with our partners to breathe life into the scripts, it feels fabulous to see the minisodes as they come alive on India’s no. 1 kids’ channel, Cartoon Network. The quality and depth of the ideas reinforces our belief that India is truly an unlimited source of talent that the animation world should take note of.”
With the slowdown and significant downsizing and layoffs, a somber mood had set in, but the television premieres of BIG Animation’s Little Krishna on Nick, Toonz Animation’s Tales of Lord Shiva on Cartoon Network and now the premiering of the KulVeera short, the first amongst the Snaptoons properties….. indicating that good tidings are on their way for Indian Animation.
