Hanuman, the animated feature is a torchbearer for the emergence of Indian animated content. It is also a brand that has been successful with Indian kids. Owing to the immense popularity of Hanuman, Sahara-one Motion Pictures Pvt. Ltd has added an additional 50 minutes of previously unseen footage to the original and telecasted the same as New & Improved Hanuman on FILMY on 27 August.
In an exclusive comment to Animation Xpress.com, Shailesh Kapoor, Content and Marketing head, FILMY, said, “The strategy behind New & Improved Hanuman was to present Hanuman in a fresh way to its audience, such that they are tempted to sample it yet again. The idea was to keep the experience unique on FILMY, and offer a product that has not been seen in theatres, DVD/ VCD or television before.”
A first of its kind innovation for Movie Broadcast in India, much akin to the value addition of DVD bonus features.
“The idea is to keep FILMY’s movies and programs different from the other movie channels” shared Shailesh, adding “This move has received a positive response from viewers and advertisers”
Shailesh does not discard the possibilities of further improvement in Hanuman. “Hanuman is one of our flagship films and now that we have shown it twice on the channel, we will use the film in the future to attract kids to FILMY. For kids, the film has immense repeat value”, he said.
