Crunchyroll has acquired the new animated series Trigun Stampede from Toho, set to release in 2023. A rebirth of the classic anime Trigun, based on the popular action manga series by Yasuhiro Nightow, the show follows Vash the Stampede, a legendary gunman and a pacifist with a bounty on his head. The series initially launched in 1998, inspiring the 2010 feature film Trigun: Badlands Rumble.
Produced by Orange (Beastars), Trigun Stampede features an all-new cast and crew. Crunchyroll will simulcast the series from Japan in more than 200 countries and territories worldwide.
More series information will be revealed at Anime Expo 2022 during the Crunchyroll-hosted panel on 2 July at 8 pm PT at the JW Marriott Hotel in Los Angeles. Panelists slated to appear on stage include author Yasuhiro Nightow; designer Kouji Tajima; Orange producers Kiyotaka Waki and Yoshihiro Watanabe; and Toho producer Katsuhiro Takei. The panelists will discuss the show and share a behind-the-scenes look at its production.
Orange will also host a studio panel on 3 July of the Anime Expo Studio at 4:15 pm at the JW Marriott Hotel in Los Angeles. The Japanese animation studio is best known for the popular shows Beastars, Godzilla Singular Point, and Land of The Lustrous.
