Animated Series ‘Loodleville’ takes Russia’s SMF Studio to MIPJunior Project Pitch finals

An animated comedy series Loodleville produced by Russia’s one of the oldest animation companies SMF Studio was selected as one of the five finalists from out of one hundred and fifteen submissions from forty-one countries for the MIPJunior Project Pitch. Loodleville targeting four to six year olds is the only project from Russia to be named as a finalist.

As per MIPJunior website, the project is still under production with more 75 per cent being financed. It is being made in 52×7 minute format.

“We are very happy that Loodleville, one of our new promising projects, has been recognized by international experts in animation and made it into the top five. The MIPJunior Project Pitch is a unique opportunity for us to showcase the studio’s content to the international market. This MIPCOM SMF Studio is actively seeking to build partnerships around the world in all aspects of the animation business from co-production, to licensing, and sales,” said SMF Studio board chairman Yuliana Slashcheva.

The series follows the adventures of Loodle Anne and her family in the quaint and quirky town of Loodleville- a town hidden away on the tippy top of a snow-covered mountain.

An unusual group of cute little Yeti, including Anne, her brother Boo, Mom and Dad, and their dog, Garbanzo. Life for the Loodles may seem just like our own, except it’s quite a bit smaller and a whole lot sillier! Luckily, Anne has her one and only Loodle Doodle Book. When she needs to, Anne can swipe one of her doodles into reality to get her out of a tricky situation, but if she’s not careful, she might make it even worse… Welcome to Loodleville!

MIPJunior Project Pitch is a pitching competition highlighting new projects for kids with the greatest potential for commissioning and multiplatform extension.

SMF Studio (Soyuzmultfilm) celebrating 85 years of business this year is one of Russia’s largest animation companies. SMF Studio has created over 1500 animated movies, gaining international recognition for its projects.
