The HBO Max release date for the DC League of Super-Pets movie, which stars Dwayne Johnson a.k.a. The Rock and Kevin Hart, indicates that the team will once more take a bite out of crime. Later this month, on Monday 26 September, the animated movie will be available on the streaming service.
HBO Max announced the release date through its official Twitter handle. The film’s premiere on the streaming service will come just under two months after its theatrical release on 29 July and just over a month after its digital release on 23 August. Additionally, it will be just one week before the movie’s 4 October physical release, which will include 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and DVD formats.
Krypto the Super-Dog, voiced by Johnson, joins up with Ace the Bat-Hound, voiced by Hart, and a motley crew of shelter animals who have lately been given superpowers to save a kidnapped Justice League in the animated film DC League of Super-Pets.
The voice cast of DC League of Super-Pets also includes Keanu Reeves, Kate McKinnon, Vanessa Bayer, Natasha Lyonne, and Diego Luna. Apart from writing the script, the film is also directed by Jared Stern along with Sam Levine. Stern has also produced the film alongside Dwayne Johnson, Patricia Hicks, Dany Garcia, and Hiram Garcia. The executive producers for the film are John Requa, Glenn Ficarra, and Nicholas Stoller.
Here’s the official synopsis of the film: In DC League of Super-Pets, Krypto the Super-Dog and Superman are inseparable best friends, sharing the same superpowers and fighting crime in Metropolis side by side. When Superman and the rest of the Justice League are kidnapped, Krypto must convince a rag-tag shelter pack—Ace the hound, PB the potbellied pig, Merton the turtle and Chip the squirrel—to master their own newfound powers and help him rescue the Super Heroes.
