Hyderabad based DQ Entertainment has once again been nominated for three of the animated shows (that it has worked on) at one of the most coveted awards, the Daytime Emmy Awards 2007.
Tutenstein, Todd World and Curious George are the titles that have been nominated under the Outstanding Special Class Animated Program and Outstanding Children�s Animated Program categories respectively.
Speaking to Animation Xpress.com about the nominations, Tapas Chakravarti, CEO, DQ Entertinment shared, “It was absolutely delightful to hear about three Daytime Emmy nominations for our productions during the Kidscreen Summit in New York. It vindicates DQEâ€?s belief in quality, consistency and hard work. Three cheers to all the artists and associates in DQE and its client base world wide.”
At the Emmy’s, a total of four shows have been nominated for the Special Class Animated Programme and five for the Outstanding Children’s Animated Programme.
Nominees for the Children’s Programming Emmy Awards were announced by the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences at the annual Kidscreen Summit on 7th February 2007 at the Sheraton Hotel and Towers in New York City.
Todd World
This year marks the first time in the 34 year history of the Daytime Emmy Awards that Children�s categories for programs, performers and writers have been singled out and honored at a separate ceremony.
The Children�s Emmy Awards will be given as part of the 34th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards at the Kodak Theatre in Los Angeles on June 15 2007. Leading broadcasters, personalities and television professionals will be presenters at the event.
Tutenstein which had previously won an EMMY in 2005 has been nominated once again for EMMY 2007, for the second consecutive year. Todd World was produced by DQ Entertainment for Discovery Kids and this is the third year of it being nominated for the Emmy�s. Curious George on the other hand was produced for Universal cartoon Studios.

The studio has previously won accolades and honours at prestigious events such as the BAF 2006 Awards, Cartoons at Bay, Deloitte, Ciak Junior Festival in Treviso and the Emmy’s.
DQ is currently working on the second season of Tutenstein.
