Vertex Volt builds robust pipeline for ‘Fear Files’

Right since the time when shows like ‘Aahat’, ‘Ssshh…koi hai’ dominated the TRPs on television, Horror based live action television shows have always maintained their pull over Indian Audiences.

An interesting thing about horror shows is the extensive usage of 2D as well as even some 3D FX with a huge volume of work being chroma, 3D modelling , Matte Paintings and so on.

The recent being Dreamz Image’s new television show ‘Fear Files’’, which has been airing on all weekends at 10:30 pm, since the past 2 months on Zee tv.

Mumbai based Vertex Volt which works on  all the FX needs of Fear Files’ has built a robust pipeline delivering an impressive 100+ Chroma and set extension shots and around 50 3D FX shots per episode for the show.
The team is headed by Hardik Gajjar, who is the VFX Supervisor and also the Founder of Vertex Volt.

“Fear Files” uncovers the truth behind some of the most compelling, mystifying and seemingly unexplainable images that have occurred in different places in India. It is a show focused on the realm of the supernatural, paranormal and mysterious events that sometimes take place in our lives. Through the depiction of real occurrences in India, Zee TV enlightens viewers and elucidate that which has become hidden beneath the many layers of misunderstanding and fear associated with paranormal experiences.

Speaking to Animationxpress.com, Hardik Gajjar -VFX Supervisor and Founder,Vertex Volt said,” In May this year,we were first approached by Dreamz Images with the concept of the show.We first started work on the VFX of the show in June, working on the VFX of a television show is always a great challenge as finishing the VFX for one entire episode with strict and tight deadlines is our first priority. Also,it takes skill, patience and management to get things done in an appropriate and organized manner. The other challenge was to sustain the quality of the work and not let it suffer under any circumstances within limited time and deadlines. But we have a strong team that works day and night in order to meet the deadlines with quality output.”

“The TRP of the show has increased  which motivates us to work even harder,I would never want to let our viewers down, but luckily my entire team has always delivered and has never let me down.
Also,as an artist we have all the freedom to experiment and explore especially when it is for a Horror based show.Visual effects shown in a horror movie is very to the point and preplanned, but in a horror tv series, you have the freedom to experiment creatively but in a limited span of time. We do enough research and development in order to work on a particular shot. Working  for a television show is hectic as constant work is going on from one episode to the other but it’s a good challenge for us.”

Further adding on the animation work done for the show he said,” Being a horror show there is a lot of scope for effects,we work on a  lot of CG shots which include Gini, zombie hands, ghost face etc. Other than that effects like a man getting hit by a truck, floating ghost, dreamy wonderland etc. is all vfx and matte paintings.

It has been a fun experience working on the show till now and we hope to entertain the viewers in the future as well.’Devon ke dev mahadev’, ‘Fear Files’ are the shows that have grown and are quite liked by its audience. Our next milestone is to start with bigger projects while maintaining our work consistency. Currently We are planning to start our own Production house in the indian film industry We want to produce fantasy, Epic and Sci-FI movie and entertain our audience”he concludes.

Elaborating more on the show Mazid Azam- Co Producer and Director,‘Fear Files’ said “I am very happy to see  that the show is doing well, the people behind this success are Hardik Gajjar the VFX Supervisor of the show and the whole team of ‘Fear Files’.”

“Fear Files has been a learning curve so far, when the show was launched, from the first episode itself it created a slot for itself, it became the highest rated show in the weekend slot on television. I hope it continues to do well and remains at the top of the TRP’s .”

“We have tried to create something different for the television industry,we wanted to create a new benchmark,a new direction and we hope to continue the good work in the future.”shared Mazid.
