Rebel Moon is the first feature to fall under the first look partnership between The Stone Quarry Productions, a production company founded by Zack and Deborah Snyder and their producing partner Wesley Coller, and Netflix. Snyder’s sci-fi adventure film is slowly rounding up the cast.
Michiel Huisman (The Flight Attendant, The Haunting of Hill House, Game of Thrones), Cary Elwes (Operation Fortune: Ruse de Guerre, Mission: Impossible 7, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel), Alfonso Herrera (Ozark, Sense8), and Corey Stoll (Billions, The Many Saints of Newark, West Side Story) have joined the cast of the upcoming film.
As per a report in Deadline, the film will also star Sofia Boutella, Charlie Hunnam, Djimon Hounsou, Doona Bae, Ray Fisher, Rupert Friend and Stuart Martin.
The logline reads: When a peaceful colony on the edge of the galaxy finds itself threatened by the armies of the tyrannical Regent Balisarius, they dispatch a young woman with a mysterious past to seek out warriors from neighboring planets to help them take a stand.
Rebel Moon is directed by Zack Snyder, along with him Shay Hatten and Kurt Johnstad are on board as writers. Eric Newman for Grand Electric is another producer. Bergen Swanson, Sarah Bowen for Grand Electric, Shay Hatten and Kurt Johnstad serve as the executive producers.
