An optimised addition to the existing active pens in the Bamboo Stylus family, Wacom has launched an additional and new model to the group of products marketed under the Bamboo Stylus feel brand, one optimised for Samsung Galaxy Note devices. Wacom feel IT technologies are one of the company’s core technologies that create a unique and natural user experience when using a pen with various mobile devices. Via electromagnetic resonance (EMR) technology a highly precise communication is established between an active pen and a special sensor which is built into a number of mobile phones and tablets. Apply different levels of pressure and you will see a precise reflection of this on your compatible mobile device, for example as a line becomes thicker when you press harder with the stylus. Most of these smartphones and tablets can differentiate up to 512 pressure levels (and some even more). So, the user experience of these styli is one of ergonomic and precise note-taking and very satisfying, natural-feel doodling or drawing. It becomes a lot of fun to use a pen on a smartphone or tablet. Additionally, the Bamboo Stylus feel has a switch button on the side of the pen body that often can be customized inside the application on the smartphone or tablet.
While the two active styli presented in December 2012 work for a series of Windows 8 and Android products, the new Bamboo Stylus feel is optimised for Samsung’s Galaxy Note devices, adjusting to its specific hardware configurations. As with one of its siblings, it comes in a black and a white version. The Bamboo Stylus feel for Samsung Galaxy Note comes also with a soft and a firm nib in the package; depending on users’ working with the stylus the soft or the firm nib feel better on the mobile device – just like different strength pencils would on paper.
