NVIDIA, the world leader in graphics computing, will be participating in the annual IEEE international conference on High Performance Computing (HiPC), in Pune from 18th December – 21st December, 2012 as a Titanium Sponsor. The conference will serve as a platform to bring researchers of global repute to highlight advancements in high performance computing in Asia.
At the HiPC conference, NVIDIA will showcase and recognize the innovative use of Graphics Processing Units (GPUs) in scientific research. NVIDIA will exhibit demos that will showcase how compute intensive applications are accelerated by GPU’s thus considerably reducing the cost and power required to run those applications. NVIDIA will share its vision on Exascale computing as part of an address by Dr. Steve Scott, Chief Technology Officer, Tesla, NVIDIA on “Enabling Exascale with GPU computing” on 18th Dec at 10:30 AM.
“NVIDIA recognizes that technology and talent are crucial to develop India’s supercomputing capabilities. In an effort to aid and encourage scientific research in the country, NVIDIA has over the years established a robust university and academic relations programme. Through this programme, not only do we focus on nurturing scientific and engineering talent but also ensure the proliferation of the latest GPU technology. Partnering with IEEE is an extension of our efforts to develop the supercomputing ecosystem in India,” said Vishal Dhupar, Managing Director – South Asia, NVIDIA.
NVIDIA has been consistently applying its global capabilities in the area of high performance computing in India. Five out of India’s top twenty supercomputers have leveraged the hybrid architecture of supplementing CPUs with GPUs to achieve faster, more accurate results in a cost-effective manner.
