Web3 technology platform Nefta has announced a $1 million investment from Picus Capital. The company currently works with games studios at different stages of development, and will use the investment to scale the team and onboard more gaming companies in the future.
Nefta was founded this year by tech industry veterans Geeshan Willink, Fernando Pernica and Kai Goldmann, who bring first-hand experience in building their own Web3 games, alongside 40 combined years in gaming, finance, and adtech startups. The team has set out to become a leader in the Web3 space, with the ultimate aim of solidifying the potential of Web3 technologies as a key driver in the future of game development and as a way to take gamer engagement, ownership, and monetisation to the next level.
According to a Q1 2022 report from DappRadar and Blockchain Game Alliance, the blockchain gaming industry grew 2,000 per cent in the past year. It also said there were $2.5 billion worth of investments in the blockchain gaming space last quarter, compared to $4 billion raised for the sector across all of 2021, showing a huge increase in investment in the space.
Nefta CEO and co-founder Geeshan Willink said, “With extensive experience in creating Web2 and Web3 games, we’ve designed Nefta as the perfect toolbox to develop, launch and grow Web3 games. We’re delighted to announce the investment support from Picus Capital to further accelerate developer time-to-market and adoption of Web3 gaming. By removing the jargon and providing industry-leading end-to-end solutions, we aim to assist developers with scaling quickly in the space.”
With highly targeted lead generation and an extensive network within the gaming space, Nefta is scaling to support game developers of all sizes, helping them rapidly develop, release and scale Web3 games. Beyond Nefta’s powerful toolbox, they’re combining cutting-edge AI algorithms with the treasure troves of blockchain data to provide solutions in targeted Web3 user acquisition campaigns and game economy insights.
Picus Capital investor Daniel Niklas said, “We firmly believe that gaming represents one of the most promising and impactful gateways for users into the Web3 ecosystem. We are proud to back the Nefta team in their mission to provide gaming studios with easy-to-implement and robust infrastructure toolkits, and serve as a key driver for larger Web3 adoption.”
Picus Capital, an international technology investment firm, has invested in Nefta due to the vast opportunities available in the fast-growing space of Web3 gaming, and Nefta’s commitment to delivering highly scalable infrastructure solutions to the industry.
