Cloud-based web smartphone APhone launches its own app store

Cloud smartphone app APhone has launched an app store – AppNest – currently exclusive to its own app.

Cloud-based phone is a system (most likely an app) within a smartphone, that allows users with internet access to do everything over cloud. Basically, users can use all applications on their cloud, make calls, play games and do anything they would normally do on their phone, but without having to utilise their phone’s memory.

App Nest features cryptocurrency and blockchain apps such as Binance, OKX, Phantom, Metamask, Bitget Wallet, Uniswap and Aave Alarm among others, casual games such as Mighty Action Heroes, BattleTech and Stargate and other apps such as Facebook, WhatsApp, Instagram and ChatGPT.

The app/cloud based smartphone APhone allows users to run hardware-intensive applications, apps across blockchain systems and web2 applications on low end devices through any device with a browser, eliminating the need for expensive and high end hardware to get work done.

APhone has stated that AppNest is free from limitations and constraints of traditional app store models and has a “free and open environment” because it is free from monetisation. Developers no longer have to shell out a lot of cash to publish their apps on an app store.

APhone chief business officer stated, “With AppNest, we are giving users a complete outside the box experience—moving beyond the conventional hardware requirements and reach of traditional gatekeepers. Our goal is to democratise access to technology and provide a full Web3 mobile experience to users worldwide, irrespective of geographical or economic barriers.”

APhone claims to be heavy on security and boasts a dedicated seed vault that offers an added layer of security for user data and users digital assets. The cloud smartphone is run by an AI-Focused GPU called Aither. Its hardware enables decentralised cloud computing and is suited for clients who require to run AI/Machine learning tasks.
