Autodesk announces virtual Vision Series lineup for FMX 2022

At FMX 2022, Autodesk is hosting a virtual Vision Series to showcase top industry achievements and highlight workflow insights to help artists better manage modern production challenges. Industry luminaries from EA Games, Rising Sun Pictures, Axis Studios, Inner-Freak, Lucid Games, and more will join Autodesk on 6 May during a full day of virtual sessions.

This year’s lineup will include in-depth discussions on industry trends; recent high-profile work; and workflow breakdowns with tips and tutorials for Maya, 3ds Max, Bifrost, Arnold, and ShotGrid.

  1. Emerging Trends in Media & Entertainment: What Students Need to Know (Friday, 6 May, 14:30 CET) 

Join Sophie Robinson of EA Games, Anna Hodge of Rising Sun Pictures, and Alwyn Hunt of The Rookies, for an insightful discussion on networking during the pandemic, dealing with work-related stress, and how students can prepare for the future of media and entertainment.

  1. Bringing the Characters of “Magic: The Gathering” to Life (Friday, 6 May, 15:45 CET )

Axis Studios has served as a full creative partner in ‘Magic: The Gathering’s’ most beloved cinematic trailer releases, including the recent back-to-back series of gothic horror trailers, Innistrad: Crimson Vow and Innistrad: Midnight Hunt. Hear from Head of Character Design, Amy Ash, as she discusses how the team brought the characters from the franchise to life, using Maya for modeling, Arnold to set up shaders for fast and non-destructive iteration, and ShotGrid to expedite media review.

Bifrost Developer Jason Brown provides a detailed breakdown of how to scatter and grow crystals rapidly and efficiently using Bifrost’s procedural tools.
