Spellman who was hired in October, chose to focus on the racial issues raised by Wilson being handed Captain America’s shield at the end of Endgame. The Falcon and the Winter Soldier was confirmed in April 2019, and filming began in October 2019 in Atlanta, Georgia, before moving to the Czech Republic in March 2020. Production was halted due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but resumed in Atlanta in September before wrapping in the Czech Republic in October.
