First 15 minutes of Zack Snyder’s ‘Army of the Dead’ to be livestreamed on YouTube

Netflix recently announced that Zack Snyder’s Army of the Dead will get a sneak peek on YouTube, which will reveal the first 15 minutes of the movie. The YouTube livestream for Army of the Dead will be live on 13 May 2021 at 10:30 PM (IST).

The film marks Zack Snyder’s return to the zombie genre after his 2004 debut feature Dawn of the Dead.

Army of the Dead has a group of mercenaries venturing into a quarantine zone to plot a heist in a Las Vegas casino amid a zombie outbreak. Despite being quarantined and infested with zombies, the mercenaries will go to Las Vegas to pull off a deadly heist.

Departing from the superhero space, Snyder is going back to his roots with zombie flick Army of the Dead. The film is not a sequel to his directorial debut Dawn of the Dead, but will instead introduce a new world and new characters.

On 7 May, Netflix also released a promotional featurette on its YouTube channel where the trailer of the upcoming film was dissected, shot by shot, by Zack Snyder.

The VFX have been worked upon by Framestore, Mammal Studios, Crafty Apes and Instinctual. The Production VFX supervisor of the Army Of The Dead  is Marcus Taormina.

The film stars Dave Bautista, Ella Purnell, Omari Hardwick, Ana de la Reguera, Theo Rossi, Matthias Schweighöfer, Nora Arnezeder, Hiroyuki Sanada, Tig Notaro, Raúl Castillo, Samantha Win, Huma Qureshi and Garret Dillahunt.

Army of the Dead is scheduled for a limited theatrical release in US on 14 May, followed by its digital release on Netflix on 21 May 2021.
