Xbox 360 now available for Rs 12,990

The console gaming in India never really picked up or no one gave the consoles a chance, said everybody. But, Microsoft in a move to promote the console gaming in the country has slashed the prices of its older generation console Xbox 360 and the basic version starts at Rs 12,990. Along with the price cut came the news  that company is also introducing a new 500GB Xbox 360 console bundle that comes with Call of Duty: Black Ops II and Call of Duty: Ghosts (as download codes). Along with this, the bundle includes a headset and a 1-month Xbox Live Gold membership, all for Rs 19,990.

“Today we are excited to announce the launch of the Xbox 360 500GB model in India at Rs 19,990. And we’re celebrating the launch with a special bundle,” said Microsoft.

The prices of the consoles will have a permanent price drop in India. The 4GB standalone Xbox 360 is now priced at Rs 12,990 which was originally priced at Rs 15,990, while the 4GB console with Kinect is now priced at Rs 21,990 against the old price of Rs 26,990. Also, the price for the 250GB Xbox 360 with Kinect has been cut by Rs 2,000 and is now priced at Rs 29,990.

Sony PS3 which already has 500GB variant and has been around for a while is priced at Rs 22,290 on Flipkart with prices varying with bundles. Introducing a 500GB variant seems like an attempt to counterpart the Sony console but the move has come a little too late from Microsoft.

The new generation consoles (PS4 and Xbox One) have been in the Indian Market since the last year and have been priced at Rs 39,990 for base versions.
