World Poker Tour (WPT) is back with its fourth edition in an exclusive partnership with Adda52.com, India’s online poker destination. The WPT Prime India festival will take place from 12 to 18 April 2023 at the Deltin Royale, Goa. With top poker players from all corners of India coming together to compete at the global WPT Prime India, the energy at the tables is sure to be electrifying.
The winner of the main event will win a prestigious WPT trophy, huge prize money and a $10,400 tournament buy-in (part of the prize pool) to the WPT World Championship, plus airfare and hotel accommodations. The Player of the Festival (POF) will win a trophy and a $5,000 WPT Passport to use at any WPT main event in 2023.
With an intent to excite the audience and encourage participation, Adda52.com launched its “Road to WPT” contest for players who wish to embark on a journey to showcase their talent and skill at the World Poker Tour Prime India. Adda52 has provided multiple qualifying options for everyone to become a part of the tournament and 53 players have qualified for the WPT Prime India so far, of which 45 players have qualified through tournaments and eight through the cash games.
“Our partnership with WPT Prime India will provide a platform for poker players to showcase their skills and make a name for themselves in the poker world,” said Deltatech Gaming executive director and CEO Shivanandan Pare.
The previous events aboard the Deltin Royale gathered interest from 500 entrants and boasted prize pools worth half a million dollars. WPT was held in India for the first time in 2017 as a part of WPT DeepStacks. The very first WPT Main Event was won by Vikash Martri with a winning amount of Rs. 60.30 lakhs, followed by Nikunj Jhunjhunwala, Ashish Munot, Kumar Sahaj and Kushal Sogani in the later editions respectively.
