Seems like the superhero frenzy is catching up with everyone, literally. Be it film makers, TV series, merchandise or even the advertisement segment; everyone is trying to tap into the comic world and make the most out of it. And this could be observed with the recent commercial launched by Coca Cola during the Super Bowl 50 spot wherein we witness a showdown of Marvel’s two superheroes; Ant Man and the Hulk.
In the minute long ad, we can observe our tiny master of thief Scott Lang stealing a Coke Mini right under the nose of Dr. Bruce Banner, making our ever so angry hero, outrageous and turning into Hulk. After a destructive rampage across the city, the pair eventually make amends and seems like Ant Man was just messing around with the Hulk. They both gulp down the sugary soda from the Coke mini can.
Though the two heroes haven’t been introduced to one another on the movie front, we can observe Scott calling the Hulk by his first name. Coca Cola did a commendable job while showcasing the two heroes and probably might have had to spend a bomb while making this commercial owing to the fact that they roped in two heroes and have made use of visual effects.
Commenting on why did Coca Cola rope in Marvel’s two iconic character, Coca-Cola’s senior vice president of content, Emmanuel Seuge said, “It’s a David and Goliath-style clash between two of the most iconic Marvel heroes. Those are characters that are extremely appealing to the young adult target so it seemed to us a very natural to partner with them.”
Ant Man will be seen in the upcoming movie Captain America : Civil War that’s set to release on 6 May whereas the Hulk will appear in 2017’s Thor: Ragnarok .
