Talking animals are a usual trend in the animation genre with films like Madagascar, Kung Fu Panda, The Lion King and many more . And now one more movie is going to add on to the list with the upcoming feature The Wild Life embarking the life of wild animals on an isolated island that’s set to take the audience on a wild escapade.
When a human is stranded on an island, it is difficult for him to survive. But, if this human meets a number of wild animals who may befriend him and help save the island, then the survival turns in to a mission to protect and accomplish.
A paradise consisting of parrot Mak, tapir Rosie, goat Scrubby, kingfisher Kiki, echidna Epi, pangolin Pango and chameleon Carmello; touched by the sea, all these wild animals have a merry time on their homeland. After a stormy night, these animals are bewildered on seeing the human Robinson Crusoe and his dog for the first time on their homeland and are thus engrossed in figuring out who and what is this human all about.
Survival is the sole mission for Crusoe and therefore he tries to built a tree house while, the animals extend their help in building this ‘human nest in the tree’. How chaotic is it going to be when wild, funny, quirky and trendy animals and a sane hard working human come together to achieve something paramount.
This survival is further jeopardised when two savage cats Mal and May along with their pirate gang jump to the chaos to capture the island. The survival then turns into a sole mission as Crusoe and his animal troupe risk their lives to save their homeland.
The animation, characterisation and basic story seems moderate. However, all the pieces of the adventure are not untangled in the trailer so we can expect some more chaos in the storyline. The voice cast includes Ilka Bessin, Dieter Hallervorden, Matthias Schweighöfer, Aylin Tezel and Kaya Yanar.
Directed by Vincent Kesteloot and Ben Stassen, The Wild Life with the original title Robinson Crusoe is produced with Europe’s StudioCanal and nWave. Distributed by Summit Entertainment – a Lionsgate company, The Wild Life is set to hit theatres on 9 September, 2016.
