The team at Walt Disney Animation Studios must be over the moon after scoring a double whammy at the 87th Oscars in both the ‘Best Animation Feature’ and the ‘Best Animation Short’ categories.
On the feature film side, Big Hero 6 brought home the Academy Award which was received by Don Hall, Chris Williams and Roy Conli. This win certainly came as a surprise as everyone from the trade and the industry never really felt this movie had a chance to win the big one.

(Our prediction was Studio Ghibli’s ‘The Tale of The Princess Kaguya’)
The ‘Best Animated Short’ category was always a fight between ‘Feast’ and ‘The Dam Keeper’, so the win for Patrick Osborne and Kristina Reed (Feast) came as no surprise.
