US based Splash Entertainment finds a partner in India’s Digitales Studios for ‘Alpha and Omega’ revival

Mumbai based animation studio, Digitales Studios, a division of Karishma Software has bagged a multi project deal with US Based Splash Entertainment for the Lionsgate Franchise Alpha and Omega to be produced by Splash. Splash will also be handling distribution for the three films, with Lionsgate distributing in the US, Canada, and the UK.

Splash has partnered with Lionsgate for the production of three new 45-minute films to be distributed worldwide across DVD and digital platforms for the highly successful animated franchise Alpha and Omega. The first movie is set for a released in mid 2016.

Digitales Studios now moving into the fifth year of its worldwide presence has in the past delivered a number of international animated CGI TV series and film projects with producers from around the world. This new relationship with Splash Entertainment will further bolster its presence in the industry.

Lionsgate launched Alpha and Omega in 2010, and the film grossed over $50 million at the worldwide box office and has reached millions of consumers on DVD and digital platforms.  The Company later expanded the franchise to include multiple sequels released on DVD and digital platforms including Alpha And Omega 2: A Howl-iday AdventureAlpha and Omega 3: The Great Wolf Games (which Digitales Studios had delivered previously in 2013-2014) and Alpha And Omega: The Legend of Saw Tooth Cave. The last film Alpha And Omega: Family Vacation was released recently in the US. The animation of the first movie in the franchise was also delivered by an Indian animation studio – Crest Animation – that has now ceased to exist.

Alpha and Omega

Filled with their trademark humor, action and family values, the three new stories produced with Splash will focus on the misadventures of “Alpha” Kate, “Omega” Humphrey, and their three wolf pups, Claudette, Stinky and Runt, as they confront life lessons in the great outdoors.

Some of the great names overseeing the executive production will be Ken Katsumoto, EVP of Lionsgate Family Entertainment, and Liz Young, president of Splash Entertainment. With context to production in the Digitales Studios Mumbai facility, the studios director and head Ritesh Kumar will be overseeing the same.
