Ariane Labed, known for award-winning performances in films like Yorgos Lanthimos’ The Lobste Athina Rachel Tsangari’s Attenberg and Alice’s Odyssey has been cast in the forthcoming Assassin’s Creed movie, according to Deadline.
Another actress Alicia Vikander was in running for this role but later she dropped out of the race to act in the next Bourne film. Assassin’s Creed will be Ariane’s first mainstream film.
Producers New Regency and Ubisoft are betting big on the project since the movie is based on Ubisoft’s popular video game series – Assassin’s Creed and has amassed a large fan following across the globe.
Directed by Justin Kurzel, it stars Michael Fassbender and Marion Cotillard with the production set to start in the early fall, eyeing a 21 December 2016 release.
