As the Christmas season approaches, everyone can expect Christmas themed content to be delivered by companies in their games through DLCs (Downloadable content), while others provide rewards. While a lot of big names are yet to reveal festive events for their games, Ubisoft has already done it and it goes on for 30 days, which is also in celebration of the company’s 30 year anniversary.
The 30-day event includes digital rewards, goodies, and games. Everyone is eligible for the giveaways, all they have to do is to log in to 30days.ubi.com using their Ubisoft account and claim their rewards. It has already begun yesterday (24 November) and will continue till 23 December. While everyone would be receiving the daily rewards, 300 lucky ones would receive one of the company’s three select ‘latest titles’.
The company’s latest release, Watch Dogs 2 has not been performing well in respect to sales, compared to its previous edition.
In a recent interview with PCGamesN, Ubisoft, VP of live operations, Anne Blondel-Jouin said, “If you separate us from our independence, if you take away the way we like taking risk and inventing new stuff, well it’s not going to be the same Ubisoft,” referring to the issue of Vivendi’s attempt of taking over Ubisoft.
The veteran further stressed on the point that, what made them thrive through all these years was the kind of freedom that they have and the potential takeover could change all that. “What made us so successful for 30 years is being super independent, being very autonomous,” she stated. “Sometimes we take a lot of risks … This is what we want to remain, it’s what has made us successful and been able to deliver the type of games we’ve been delivering.”
