Tuffy gets a keychain role as ‘Tom & Jerry: Forbidden Compass’ hits cinemas

The cat-and-mouse chase is back, and Tuffy, a fictional character from the Tom and Jerry cartoon series, is tagging along. PVR Inox has rolled out exclusive Tuffy keychains to mark the 23 October release of Tom & Jerry: Forbidden Compass, giving fans a little something to take home after the show.

Available in Tuffy Angel and Tuffy Devil designs, the officially licensed polyvinyl chloride (PVC) collectibles are priced at Rs 899 each. The keychains will be sold at more than 50 select PVR Inox cinemas across 13 cities, including Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata and Pune. Stocks are limited.

Presented by Zee Studios and directed by Gang Zhang, Tom & Jerry: Forbidden Compass takes the familiar rivals beyond their trademark chases. A magical star-compass transports them to an ancient world inspired by Eastern mythology, where mythical guardians await. The film marks the franchise’s first fully 3D CGI feature, with animation by ReDefine Animation, a global VFX and animation company.

PVR Inox CEO, revenue and operations Gautam Dutta shared, “Tom & Jerry has a rare ability to bring generations together through humour that needs little introduction. We look forward to welcoming families and fans to experience their latest adventure on the big screen. We have seen a strong response to film inspired collectibles in the past, highlighting the potential of merchandise to drive additional sales and extend fan engagement beyond the film. The Tuffy keychains build on this enthusiasm, offering fans an accessible collectible featuring a much-loved character while creating an additional retail opportunity around the film’s release.”
