Speculated to be the biggest and the costliest film ever produced by Yash Raj Films, trailer of the much awaited multi-starrer, Thugs of Hindostan has been released.
Directed by Vijay Krishna Acharya, Thugs of Hindostan is based on an early 19th century bestselling novel about the Kali worshiping thug. The film is set to treat the audience across age-groups with an amalgam of thrill and adventure. Razzmatazz around the trailer proves it’s possibly going to be masive since its starring two legends of the industry- Amitabh Bachchan and Amir Khan, who are coming together in a movie for the first time.
For a long time, India had been hungering to have a Jack Sparrow-ish zany and iconic character for itself and Amir Khan leaves no stones unturned in bringing just that on the table. This movie is perhaps, all set to mark Bollywood’s foray into the pirate world. It is going to be filled with jaw-dropping action enhanced by advanced VFX techniques in India. The thrilling part is that YRF has launched its own VFX division and they are determined to ensure that this movie is at par with any Hollywood biggie.
The three-minute 33 seconds long trailer opens with a picturesque scene; The East India Company, which arrived in Indian with a primary purpose to trade, is now ruling the nation. Azaad, (Amitabh Bachchan) a Hindustani, is bent on liberating his country. To make matters worse, the British have commissioned the biggest thug- Firangi (Aamir Khan), to stop him. Aamir as Firangi will seemingly have us on the edge of our seats and asking for more; thanks to his wisecracking and wicked character. As the trailer progresses, Firangi sides with Azaad and says, “Ab hume Azaad ke saath rehna hai, Azaad banna hai.”
The trailer was chosen to be launched today to mark the 86th Birth anniversary of late Yash Chopra and commemorate his film-making spirit, innovation and genius vision.
To add to the glitz, it also stars Dangal-fame girl Fatima Sana Shaikh as a trail-blazing action heroine while Bollywood diva Katrina Kaif also plays a major part. We can’t wait!
