The nominees for the FICCI BAF Awards 2016 are…

The AVGC industry in India holds a number of creations which deserves recognition and due appreciation. The Best Animated Frames (BAF) Awards started by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) have been acknowledging and honouring both student and professional creations in the Animation, Visual Effects and Gaming industry since 2004.

The BAF Awards goes a step ahead to honour creations not only from India but across the globe in various formats in the above mentioned genres. This year the 13th edition of the BAF Awards witnesses 13 sub categories in Animation, seven in VFX and five in the Gaming category.

BAF AwardsThe Animation category includes numerous nominations in various formats like short films, feature films, ad films, promos and TV episodes. Just to name a few it includes Studio Eeksaurus’ Rajasthan Tourism logo ad and Google Android One Hospital, Debanjan Nandy’s Chhaya, Saptarshi Dey’s Save Little Shelley, Sphereorigins and HopMotion’s Chhoti Anandi, Viacom 18’s Shiva, Turner International’s Lights, camera, Roll No 21 – Kris in Bollywood, Toonz Animation’s Pakdam Pakdai – Ocean Attack and Green Gold Animation’s Chhota Bheem Himalayan Adventure. There are a number of other nominees in the Animation category which display a commendable work of creativity and skill.

The VFX category features Triangle Film and Vertex Volt’s Siya Ke Ram, the VFX blockbuster Baahubali-The Beginning, Bajirao Mastani and several other nominees in various formats like short film, commercial, TV episode and motion picture.

While, Reliance Games’ Real Steel Champions, Indiagames’ ICC Pro Cricket 2015, Ubisoft’s Just Dance, 99Games’ SpellUp and few other games form a apart of the nominations in the Gaming category.

The BAF Awards will take place on 30 March, 2016 at Hotel Renaissance, Powai, Mumbai which also marks the first day of the FICCI Frames Event.
